Our structural design reviews and specifications are in accordance with the following acceptance criteria where applicable:
- Written instructions and recommendations from approving authority and other professional consultants
- Relevant sections of the National Construction Code regarding structural reliability and structural resistance
- Industry standards, data and literature from reputable local sources
- Relevant Australian Standards

Notes:
- Our structural design reviews are limited to what we can observe and measure with standard equipment as reasonably practicable.
- Our structural design reviews are based on the procured information, compliance at the time of construction unless notified or assessed otherwise, and our professional judgement.
- The intended audience of our structural design specifications are suitably qualified building practitioners.
- If construction is required, the builder is responsible for the maintenance of safety and method of construction without affecting the structural strength or serviceability of surrounding structures. If any element presents difficulty in respect to safety and constructability, or if in doubt, refer to the relevant party for resolution prior to proceeding with the work.

Structural Inspection/Consultation & Review of Existing Structures/Site Conditions
- $405 plus GST
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 45 minutes site time
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 75 minutes return travel
- Visual non-destructive inspection of requested structures and site conditions, clarifying and confirming the construction, discussing and explaining various options, and answering all structural related questions.
Dilapidation Survey & Report
- 180 plus $2 plus GST per m2 occupiable areas
- Additional $6 plus GST per m2 non-occupiable areas (e.g. subfloor, roof space)
- $270 plus GST per return travel
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 75 minutes return travel
- Photographic record of the existing condition of the relevant areas to serve as a baseline for comparison with other dilapidation reports to determine incremental damages.
- Includes for the identification of relevant structural risks to avoid potential unsafe conditions due to the planned construction if applicable.
- Full-size high-quality digital photographs will be provided to the client.
Pre-Construction Structural Drawings/Specifications & Design/Adequacy Certification
- Small jobs $315 plus $135/225/315 plus GST per minor/moderate/major structural item (e.g. beam, slab, bracing, earth-retaining structure)
- For larger jobs, please provide details of proposed work for fee proposal
- Written/diagrammatic structural specifications for construction and certification for assurance of design compliance.
- Shop drawings by others if required (fabrication drawings to suit our structural specifications, site conditions and builder's preferred method of construction, usually arranged by the builder or project manager).
- Remediation specifications of other relevant existing structures incur additional fees for the additional work if required.
Structural Review of Existing Structures & Adequacy Report
- Additional 2-3 times the inspection fee for moderate reports depending on the amount of work required
- Structural design review of requested structures/site conditions and report to inform extent of compliance.
- The report will utilise the procured information and contain where relevant:
- Conceptual written recommendations
- Minor specifications for compliance
- Other relevant comments limited to our engineering judgement, likelihood and what we can confirm
- Major construction defects incur additional fees for the additional work required for remediation.
Structural Inspections during/after Construction & Inspection Report
- $405 plus GST
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 45 minutes site time
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 75 minutes return travel
- Remote inspection if deemed acceptable by the structural engineer from $270 plus GST
- Fee is per inspection
- Visual non-destructive inspection and report to inform extent of compliance.
- Includes minor instructions/specifications for compliance if required.
- Major construction errors incur additional fees for the additional work required for rectification.
- ABCB minimum mandatory structural inspections where applicable:
- Prior to concrete pours
- Framing prior to the application of coverings
- If any element presents difficulty in respect to safety and constructability, or if in doubt
Structural Design Review of Provided Documentation
- From $270 plus GST depending on the amount of work required
- Fee is per review
- Structural design review of provided documentation and report to inform extent of compliance.
- Includes alterations for compliance if required.
- Major alterations incur additional fees if required for compliance.
